World Christian Outreach, Inc. (WCO) was founded in 1976 by Mr. Stanton R. Herpick to support and help Christian organizations in foreign countries in the promotion and spread of the Gospel (GOOD NEWS) of Jesus Christ the Son of God, mankind's only means of salvation from sin and reconciliation to God.

It is our belief that to help local indigenous Christian workers at the grassroots level is the best way to maximize usage of dollars spent.

“According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life
and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue:
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises,
that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” II Peter 1:3-4.

I am so glad to know that I, Stan Herpick, am a “Partaker of the Divine Nature” of God. What an incredible thing that through the power of God we as Christians have been given exceeding great and precious promises that enable us to be “Partakers of the Divine Nature”.

And as a Partaker of this Divine Nature we receive the great love of God as our personal possession. A love that is always with us, never gives up on us, fulfills our hearts, and gives us unshakeable joy and peace that only comes from our Heavenly Father.

“Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should
be called the sons of God. Beloved, now are we the sons of God......” I John 3:1-2a.

I believe that to be a son of God is to be a partaker of the divine nature of God. Why? Because to be a son of God is to be born of God. We, who are Christians, are born of God by the divine nature of God, by the Holy Spirit.

“But as many as received him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13.

Jesus said in John 3:3 – “Truly, truly I say unto you except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”. We must be born again and partake of the divine nature of God that we might see and lay hold of God.

The dictionary describes a “partaker” as one who takes part in an activity. He is one who takes part in, or participates in, or experiences something. It is to possess a certain nature or to enter into the experience of another as to enter into the sorrow or joy of another person, as an example. In the Biblical sense we become partakers or recipients of the very nature of God because we are born of God when we receive Jesus and become “born again” and become eternal beings, entering into a whole new kingdom and a whole new life.

Why are we talking about all this? Because we are in a New Year and to truly realize that we are partakers of the divine nature, that we are sons of God, eternal beings, born of God and not of the flesh, is to know that we are overcomers in this world, more than conquerors, and positioned for strength, power, victory, and great glory in the inner man.

“For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory
that overcomes the world, even our faith.” I John 5:4.

Everything proceeds from the inside out. And all power comes down from the Father Above who infuses us with His own divine nature of Godly attributes and love. Look what the Bible says about God and what He can do with us:

“Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory,
and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the
kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come
from you, and you reign over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine
hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now, therefore, our God, we
thank you, and praise your glorious name.” I Chronicles 29:11-13.

Who is in charge down here? It is not the devil!

All that is in heaven and earth belongs to God it says above. “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” – Psalm 24:1. I have heard some Pastors and Preachers say that the devil rules over the earth, because of the Fall. I totally and absolutely disagree with that especially since Jesus came to this earth and defeated the devil on the Cross! I John 3:8b says – “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil”. And even in the Old Testament the devil had to ask permission from the Lord to attack Job! The devil is a defeated foe and “this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith!” Jesus, Himself, said in John 16:33 – “These things I have spoken unto you that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”.

This spirit of overcoming, power, strength, and victory is in the divine nature of God and we are “Partakers of the Divine Nature” in this New Year! My faith is based on fact. Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead! Doubting Thomas who said he wouldn’t believe unless he saw the physical Jesus and thrust his fingers and hands into his side cried out when Jesus appeared behind closed and locked doorsand said - “My Lord and my God”! Jesus ate fish on the beach with his disciples after He was raised from the dead. He was seen by more than 500 people and He appeared to the two on the road to Emmaus as their hearts burned within them as they talked with the resurrected Lord.

Can we cast ourselves totally upon Jesus and believe the promises in the Bible in this New Year? Absolutely we can! In fact, we no longer belong to our own selves. We have been purchased with a price and that price was the precious blood of Jesus. We have been bought by another; so, in fact, we don’t belong to ourselves. We belong to another – the One who has purchased us. Look at this tremendous passage in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. "We are not our own, for we have been bought/purchased with a price! When someone buys something there is an exchange from one person to another. The one who paid the money/price is the one who now owns the goods purchased. There is a transfer of ownership from one person to another. So, the same is true in the spiritual world. Jesus Christ came down from heaven to die for you, to purchase you, take ownership of you, and thus, deliver you from death and the devil. Because of the Fall of Adam, we are DOA – dead on arrival at birth! I wish someone had told me this at an early age so I wouldn’t have had to waste 33 years of my life! Now, I have been purchased. Jesus took my death upon himself and gave me His life in a glorious exchange at the Cross. I have been given LIFE, eternal life! I am a partaker of the divine nature because I have been purchased by a Divine One and given a new divine nature and a new divine life! Praise God!

And, in this New Year we don’t have to be afraid of anyone or anything – no person, no circumstance, no failure, no condition, no financial trial, no hardship, and no emotional situation can get me down. Why? Because we have that great promise from God in Psalm 27:1 – “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strengthof my life; of whom then shall I be afraid? ”Faith in God and God’s perfect love casts out fear! I have these three great attributes of faith, light, and love because I am a partaker of the divine nature and fear is no longer a part of my being!

And, brethren, we have a future and a hope because we are free. We have been untangled from sin and can now as it says in Galatians 5:1a - “Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has set us free”. I am free to be a servant of the Lord! My mind has been freed from the captivity of sin and empowered by a new nature now living within me. “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless, I live, yet no longer I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life that I now live, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave His life for me.” – Galatians 2:20. It is His life that lives within me now and not my own. I have been purchased. I am the beneficiary of an exchanged life and I now live by faith, for – “the just shall live by faith” – Romans 1:17b. I live by faith, not by fear! I am a partaker of the divine nature! Praise God!

And, not only these great things but that light surrounding me scatters away the darkness about me and before me and “if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin (and keeps on cleansing us)” from the old nature of sin and death.

Brethren, in this New Year let us take to heart the passage in Romans 13:11-12 – “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light”. In this New Year let us rise up and conquer as children of light; because the darkness no longer covers us! Amen!
