Jesus is very clear, we are to demonstrate our love through actions. When the non-Christian world sees us caring for desperate people, they see Jesus. It is a strong testimony to non-believers and a strong encouragement to believers. We have many opportunities to care for and assist those in need. This includes providing boarding schools for orphans in Kenya and Tanzania, helping people recover from persecution in Pakistan, assisting a refuge for Albino children in Tanzania, supporting orphan care in India and Pakistan, helping brickyard slaves in Pakistan, and assisting Pastors with various needs. Some of these efforts are on-going, others are the result of unpredicted events.
caring for ophans
One of our largest ongoing efforts has been to build two secondary schools for orphans supporting 150 children each. One school is in Laikipia, Kenya and another is in Ishinde Village, Tanzania. These provide food, shelter, clothing, and a quality secondary education in a Christ centered community. They provide hope to children who are otherwise desperate. They also are a witness to the community. For instance, the President of Tanzania has visited the school in Ishinde Village and provided a modest donation. The President is Muslim but appreciates what we are doing.
In 2017, WCO created a separate 501(c) 3 charity to support these schools; New Dawn Communities, Inc. More about these schools and the alumni stories can be found at www.newdawncommunities.org. Donations to this specific effort can be made there.
WCO also supports orphan care in In Pakistan and India, overseen by our church partners in those locations. In India we have constructed an orphan care home that houses about 22 orphans. In Pakistan, we help our partners provide food and clothing to orphans assigned to various homes in the area.

helping the persecuted
In August of 2023 in the city of Jarawal, Pakistan, Muslim extremist burnt down more than 26 churches and about 350 houses of Christians. This was the biggest tragic incidence to happen so far in Pakistan, where the muslims of the entire city raised against the churches by accusing falsely two young boys of committing blasphemy against their prophet and Quran. Unfortunately, this type of violence is becoming more common. We were able send funds to our partner in Pakistan to assist the victims there. See more here: Pakistan
