Dear Friends,
God has done and is doing a great, new thing in World Christian Outreach:
Several months ago when James and Eunice Kariuki were here, we went to Cornerstone Community Church of San Clemente, Ron Sukut Pastor. Ron and I have spent good times of prayer together and have been friends for years.
During that Sunday morning meeting the Lord spoke directly and very clearly to Susan King, a member of the Church, to start WCO Youth Missionary Army Clubs. Susan immediately put together a membership manual and she began to talk to children about forming a Club.
Since then she has been working with 11-15 children and imparting a missionary vision to them. The concept is for children here in America to reach out and help children in underdeveloped, underprivileged areas of the world. Their first “project” is to pray and raise funds to dig a water bore hole on our property in Kenya. Once that well is dug and the water is flowing, facilities can be built to house the homeless, “street children” that have been abandoned.
Susan and her husband Jim took a tax rebate check and used the money to design and produce Youth Missionary Army T-Shirts. They are also getting badges, pins, hats, etc. for the Club members.
Their first little fundraiser brought in $74. The next one that the children collected from their club was about $300. Last Friday night Susan organized a Missionary Army special evening with parents, friends and the children...about $700 came in and now the total is almost $1100. All of the money collected will be sent out to James Kariuki for digging the water bore hole.
And this is just the beginning Pastors are now wanting to start Clubs in their churches so that the children can learn to help others in foreign lands. We are providing a video with greetings from the children in Kenya...we are providing books on the lives of famous Christian missionaries for the parents to read to the children.
