A Christian Outreach Program Assisting Impoverished Areas
World Christian Outreach, Inc. (WCO) was founded in 1976 by Mr. Stanton R. Herpick to support and help Christian organizations in foreign countries in the promotion and spread of the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ the Son of God, mankind's only means of salvation from sin and reconciliation to God.
It is our belief that helping local indigenous Christian workers at the grassroots level is the best way to seek and to save those that are lost, and advance the kingdom of God. Maximize the usage of dollars spent.
What Happened at the Cross?
We go to foreign countries with International Teams to bring the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ to a very needy country.
The Theme Scriptures upon which we stand are 1 Corinthians 2:1–5:
For myself, the Lord has me concentrating on verse 2 – “For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ and him crucified.” I have been praying, meditating, thinking, and ruminating on this verse for the past six months. A companion verse to this scripture is Galatians 6:14 – “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”
It is at the Cross and only at the Cross where I have been forgiven, cleansed, purified, redeemed, restored, and made right before my God. Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth, looks upon me with favor, accepts me among the beloved, and loves me with an everlasting love because of what happened at the Cross. It was at the Cross where Jesus gave his life and reversed everything that happened in The Fall of mankind. He, there at the Cross, paid the price for all of our sins, iniquities, trespasses, transgressions, and all of those things that we have done that separate us from our God.
“For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
– Psalm 103:11-12
Isaiah 43:25 – “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will remember them no more.”
Colossians 2:13-15 – “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; and having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
Hebrews 8:12 – “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”
Hebrews 10:17 – “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”
All sins, iniquities, trespasses, and transgressions have been blotted out, wiped out, forgiven, removed, destroyed, obliterated, annihilated, and remembered no more; accomplished by the shed blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus, when He died on the Cross. All sins were paid for it says in 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 and we are no longer our own….” and ye are not your own, for ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
We now belong to the One who bought and purchased us. We have been redeemed as an exchange took place at the Cross – Jesus took our sins and death upon himself and gave us his life! It is a substitutionary atonement and all of our sins are not just covered as in the Old Testament; but they are completely removed, out of the way, eliminated, and gone forever, not to be remembered. What a Savior – What a Lord!
It is almost too good to be true… incomprehensible…beyond belief! A stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Greeks. But that’s what our loving Jesus did for us. He prostrated himself and prayed with much sorrow and heaviness of heart in Gethsemane and as sweat poured from his brow in great drops of blood, He said “O Father, if it be possible, take this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but thine be done”. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8.
Because of what Jesus did for us on the Cross, the Apostle Paul says “the world is crucified unto me and I unto the world”. He no longer had use for anything in the world and what he had accomplished before his encounter with Jesus was lost and considered as filthy dung. Those things that were gain to him he counted but lost for Christ.
Sin is the destroyer but the head of the serpent has been crushed and sin destroyed by the blood of Jesus Christ, The Second Adam. “For this purpose was the Son of God manifest, that He might destroy the works of the devil” – 1 John 3:8. And as a result of that, we, who trust and believe in Jesus with our whole heart, become more than conquerors, winners in the spiritual life, overcomers of the world, and beneficiaries of God’s unlimited blessings.
